Reflection
My time here in the class of English has been most enjoyable. My favorite part of the year has been the time where we read Born to Run. The class work was fun but the book itself turned out to be one of my personal favorites. It was really motivating, I ran like a maniac after reading it. I loved the hiking trip and the running lessons in class.
Another enjoyable aspect of English was the honors. Doing the honors work made me read a lot more, and since I love to read it worked out. It also exposed me to new books that I probably wouldn't have read if I hadn't done honors. I really enjoyed a couple of the books and I'm so thankful that I got a chance to read them.
One big struggle that I had was the IRAC writing. In the beginning I didn't really know what to do or exactly how to do it. As time went on I got better and better and developed new ways to do the assignment. Now I have no problem with them.

Feats of human awesomeness
Here are a couple stories of human awesomeness.
KON TIKI
Kon Tiki was the name of the raft that was captained by Thor Heyerdahl. In 1947 this raft made its way from South America to the Polynesian Islands, relying only on currents and wind. Battling sharks, the weather, and dehydration the 101 day journey was a tough one. However, the goal of of the expidition, which was to prove that South Americans may have populated Polynesia, was accomplished.
This story got my attention when I watched the recent movie depicting the story. It is an amazing feat to say the least. The odds were stacked against them but in a test of will as well as strength proved them to be succesful.
After looking at an additional source, I found that the same journey was made in 2006 with a similar raft. The other raft Tangaroa, made the trip in 70 days with the aid of modern equipment.
I find this to be a very inspiring and exciting story. What strikes me is Thor's drive to be correct in what he believes in, he is risking his life for his repuataion. I would totally embark on this journey if I had the chance, sign me up!

Chris Sharma
Chris Sharma is a world famous professional rock climber who has been all over the world to climb all manner of climbing routes. Sometime in his career he attempted to climb the world's first 5.15a, which at the time was the hardest climb in the world. The name of this climb was Realization, and it was located in Céüse, France. In July 2001 he faced this challenge.
I personally found this climb to be inspiring because it was the first of his kind. He has now climbed harder routes since then, but that level of difficulty was unheard of at the time, and he was leading the way into a next level of rock climbing. Although the route was laid out and he had multiple safety measures, there was always the risk of a mishap. And when you're up that high on a sheer cliff, any mistake could be fatal.

That sheer cliff? That is Realization.
Chris Sharma is another inspiration of mine. His feats inspire me to do my own. I will definitely be getting into rock climbing soon.
